A pencil seems to be a very simple tool – but how can one unravel its full potential?
We will start the workshop by getting acquainted with composition and measuring proportions. Then we will learn how to build the shape of an object, and how to reveal its volume with tone graduation. We will learn how to think with a pencil and how to make an illusion of a 3D object on a 2D sheet of paper. Two hours are not enough to make a completely finished portrait with pencil (which in academy usually takes 40 hours), and this short workshop will give the participants an understanding of the tool’s main principles.
This workshop will be most useful for beginners and professionals who would like to add some structured knowledge to the intuitive process of creation.
The workshop will be held in English, with the possibility to ask specific questions or to get an additional individual explanation in German, Ukrainian, or Russian.
